Jake & Will: CONTEST WARRIORS

Two filmmakers chasing the dream of producing their first feature film...
...and financing it solely through winning video contests.

We are moving

and the most important thing we need to continue to make videos is a large body of actors in the area we live. If anyone has any ideas how to get a gaggle of actors in the Glendale area please let us know. Is there an acting college around there? Does Occidental have an acting division?

Occidental does have a theater program.

Also, the numerous actors who line the San Fernando Valley are likely to enjoy traveling the 101/134 to Glendale way more than dealing with the traffic hell that is the 405, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, and Mulholland Drive into L.A. anyway.

Don't forget that actors travel this way all the time. Several pretty well-regarded theaters are out this way--A Noise Within in Glendale and Pasadena Playhouse and The Boston Court in Pasadena, and they are operational year round.

All this is to say that the Glendale area is not really on the outskirts of L.A. It very much is a part of it. You don't have to treat Glendale as a faraway land that people won't travel to, which forces you to look for only people in this area.

Your acting pool is all of the Los Angeles area, regardless of the fact that you're in Glendale. Location--especially since there are SO MANY actors in Southern California--is a moot point.
